Restless Days Are Here Again

Restless Days Are Here Again has gone through a few iterations since it was written in 2020.

This latest version was put under the lens of that seasonal project I’m still working on. It would go in winter and has a folksy country sound to it in my mind. I’d also call this teen angst Marc having just gone blind… on steroids. What’s the fun in writing if you can’t embellish a little after all, right?

Anyway, just thought I’d share since it’s been silent here and I like it… the lyrics, I mean. 😉

I was pulled out of the wreckage

Several years before my prime

when they said that I could chase it

In a race still undefined

It all slipped between my fingers

But I’ve lived to tell the tale

Of this life I’ve pieced together

From the mission that I failed

Restless days are here again

Restless days are here again

Now I sleep when I can get it

Since my heart beats like a drum

Though I struggle with the silence

From the words that never come

So convinced that I’m no different

Than a gambler lost in debt

It’s a thought that keeps me frozen

But I know there’s nothing left

Restless days are here again

Restless days are here again

My growth is rooted in the past

When every line was read, before my part was cast

It didn’t lasts, this couldn’t lasts…

I can’t sleep ‘cause I’ll regret it

As this storm looms overhead

We keep praying for salvation

In a life we’ve barely led

I’ve been searching for some mercy

But it’s howling in the wind

What’s the sense in trying to find it?

When I can’t see anything

Restless days are here again

Restless days are here again

Restless days are here again

Restless days are here again
