Constantly Travelling Leftovers

So how do I tackle the introduction to these leftovers?

If I’d released Constantly Travelling on here in its original form (which can be found on the Fireteddy National Library,) every one of these things would be in the main grouping. It wasn’t until years later that I realized just how over-stuffed and flawed the whole thing was. It’s hard to believe that I actually put something out with 15 lyric pages — 16 if you include the secret/bonus link that originally led to One For The Road.

Despite revisiting that grouping several times, I still didn’t remove Morning Rush and Nothing Left To Say until uploading the lyrics to this current site. The former makes me cringe, but I tried to make it passable to include here. If you’re a masochist though, you can still read it in all its shitty glory in the library.

Self-deprecation aside, I actually like E.V. and One For The Road quite a bit. Oblivious has also come a long way and Nothing Left To Say isn’t too offensive, but Morning Rush…. ugh!

E.V.

Who’s the lesser of two evils?

When they’re pretty much the same

There were spaces where I loved one

Now I can’t recall her name

Well maybe it seems stupid

To accept what I can’t kill

Sometimes it gets so sickening

As the sickness overspills

Tell me when you’re out on break

And the feelings that I’ll have to fake

Tell me when you’re out on break

So I can turn away

Pick the nicest of the dog pound

When they’re pretty much all gone

With hands together, kneel down

Until you find that it’s all wrong

Maybe she was lovely

But now she’s just so plain

Conforming to her heart strings

But I guess it’s all the same

Tell me when you’re out on break

And the feelings that I’ll have to fake

Tell me when you’re out on break

So I can turn away

So I can turn away

Why are you so scared?

When you’re laying in your bed

You know there’s nothing there

It’s all inside your head

Oblivious (The Wonder Boy)

I’m aware of a guy who isn’t that bright

Yeah we get along great but that isn’t his plight

He’s a stand alone guy, though I really don’t care

Half the time I’m wondering if he’s even there

If you stopped all the talking, we could wait and see

While he’s cooler than you, he’s no better than me

You can only be all the things you want to believe

And I don’t believe in anything

I don’t believe in anything

Well I’m friends with a guy who isn’t too smart

But he’s the one with the girl because he’s got a good heart

He’s really oblivious but the joke’s been on me

Because I think that he has the one thing that I need

If you stopped all the talking, we could wait and see

While he’s cooler than you, he’s no better than me

You can only be all the things you want to believe

And I don’t believe in anything

I don’t believe in anything

Find this number, get up, get the phone

Look into her eyes, you’ll only turn to stone

You can’t see, but I’m telling you now

This is your chance to get out, get out, get out

Get out, get out, get out now…

If you stopped all the talking, we could wait and see

While he’s cooler than you, he’s no better than me

You can only be all the things you want to believe

And I don’t believe in anything

I don’t believe in anything now

I’ll try to be your monster

But you’re never gonna know

I’ll never be your puppet

And now it’s time to go

Now it’s time to go

Nothing Left To Say

I want to be your monster

I want to make you sick

You wanted to be blissful

No alternatives to pick

I know just how you look at me

I’m so proud to be your freak

But can you tell me when you’re dreaming?

I’ve been waiting here for weeks

The road we use is winding

The gears that turned are grinding

And for the first time it feels like

There’s nothing left to say

Raised to be a liar

That’s all you ever were

Sometimes you kept me happy

It’s co-incidence I’m sure

I know just what you think of me

Don’t you think that we’re both whores?

I wish you’d tell me all your nightmares

‘Cause I’m kind of getting bored

The road we use is winding

The gears that turned are grinding

And for the first time it feels like

There’s nothing left to say

For the first time it feels like

There’s nothing left to say

Morning Rush

The morning traffic never moves

It never changes, what’s left to lose?

A buzzing sound, the tires squeal

I hear the horns, it’s so surreal

Now try and feel what you can’t touch

You’ll never beat the morning rush

The feeling when you’ve had too much

You’ll never beat the morning rush

This stupid car, it always stalls

Get out the quarter, I’ll make the call

A fuzzy noise with breaks that crunch

Don’t look back, left over hunched

Now try and feel what you can’t touch

You’ll never beat the morning rush

The feeling when you’ve had too much

You’ll never beat the morning rush

You’ll never beat the morning rush

When every morning stays the same

There’ll be nothing to fear and no one to blame

One For The Road

We’re going on a ride

We’ll be gone for days and days

Let your fear subside

Let your consciousness give way

You’ve made a lot of enemies

Still I’m your lasting truth

I will always be behind you

No matter what you do

With a gun shot to the head

Now that man is dead

We’re going on a ride

We’re going far away

Maybe you could hide

If you had somewhere to stay

You’ve had so many heartaches

But now I know the truth

And behind you I will follow

No matter what you do

With a gun shot to the head

Now that man is dead

So what was that you said?

Well now that man is dead

Now that man is…
