Ride Again

Do you remember the days before the autumn snow?
When we made it to the point and finally let it go
Moving with the current that stretched across the lake
Proceeding from the worries left behind us in our wake

Now I feel the little shivers trailing up my neck
Slowly making me aware of what precious time is left
Although it's hard to pull the trigger with no gun at your head
I suppose it's even harder when you're staring down the dead

With water frozen still, not a single leaf remains
But I'll never change the tide of every ocean wave
It's gonna come around until we've found there was really no escape
It's gonna come around until we've found that life can catch us wide awake
