Signs Of Life

Don't bother looking here, there's nothing much to see
For in the end my friends have left and now it's only me
I always sit here waiting for someone else to take a stand
I thought that I was strong, but when it calls I'm just a man

It's typical, I'm cynical and nothing much makes sense
Hide the names and it's okay, there's no more evidence

Strangers come and strangers go
And the only thing I want to know is why
This life keeps passing by

I don't know why
My life keeps passing by

Won't bother changing now, my face into the wind
I'll just keep looking down, until i'm past where it begins
I always end up waiting, but no one dares to say a word
I thought that they might look awhile, but this is just absurd

So here it is, I'll live with it and learn to move along
The names will change but that's okay, because there's nothing wrong

Strangers come and strangers go
And the only thing I want to know is why
This life keeps passing by

I don't know why
My life keeps passing by

Ghosts all come like memories to haunt my dreams at night
But somewhere when the darkness fades they'll drift into the light
Vanishing in circles, they're always leaving here in hordes
But as certain as the summer skies, I know that I won't stay here anymore

I know what this life is for, I know what this life is for
And I won't be a prisoner anymore

I know what this life is for, I know what this life is for
And I won't be a prisoner anymore
No I won't be a prisoner anymore

There ain't no sense in trying to wonder why
So I refuse to let life pass me by
