Five Year Planes

It was five years ago when I saw those two planes
But it's now five years later and so much has changed
Freedom's a buzzword and terror's a lie
The rich all get richer as the innocent die

What is democracy if not just a ploy?
Most soldiers are melting like they're just plastic toys
But it's nothing compared to the country we've "saved"
You can say that they're grateful, but they're really enslaved

Because there's always a difference between all of these things
Between oppression and freedom that some liberty brings
Though you wouldn't quite know it from watching TV
Because things are more violent than this world's ever seen

There are body parts flying and lies shoved away
To silence some mothers who's trust they've betrayed
They're discredited innocents who must deal with the loss
Unless it's a matter of money, they're not linked to the cost

When the towers all crumbled, back then I could see
But this blindness is bliss, I don't miss tradgedy
It was five years ago when I saw those two planes
But it's now five years later and so much has changed
